A feature of the public education system in NSW is the opportunity to provide time in class for education in ethics, faith and morality from a religious or non-religious perspective at the choice of parents.
A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing that they wish to change their decision. Students will continue the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/carer has requested a change in writing.

If your preferred SRE or SEE option is not available please contact the approved provider. Students not attending SRE or SEE are given supervised alternative meaningful activities.
Students who do not participate in SRE/SEE classes will remain with an APCS teacher and engage in activities including:
- self-directed revision of concepts and topics previously taught or;
- opportunities for students to complete unfinished key learning area tasks at their own pace or;
- reading for pleasure, support with homework activities or cognitive development activities
The SRE/SEE program at APCS is delivered on Wednesdays from 2.15pm-2.55pm for students in years K-6.
NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
