People You Should Know
Year Advisor Year 7 2025 - Ms Josephine Baumann
I am very excited to take on the role of Year 7 Advisor for 2025. I joined Alexandria Park Community School in l2023 as a casual teacher, and I was immediately drawn to the warm and supportive environment here. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching junior History, Geography, and Aboriginal Studies, as well as Senior Aboriginal Studies. Before coming to Alex Park as an EAL/D teacher at an all-girls high school in South Korea.
My passion for teaching comes from a deep belief in supporting students’ wellbeing and helping them achieve their best, meeting their diverse needs along the way. By focusing on their wellbeing, we can help students thrive both academically and personally. This begins with their transition to high school, and I am excited to be a part of that journey as they move through the different phases of their learning.
I’ve come to understand that the key to a smooth transition lies in the relationships we foster—between students and teachers, parents and teachers, and the school community as a whole. At Alex Park, a dedicated team works together to ensure that students feel supported and confident as they make the move to high school. Head Teacher Wellbeing, Jessica Garcia; Learning and Support Teacher Year 7, Tunde Frisnyak; Deputy Principal, Steven Marcos; Aboriginal Education Officer, Uncle Hilton; the National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA); Principal, Debra Lade, and many more. Together, we’re all here to help you grow, learn, and enjoy your high school journey.
I can’t wait to get to know each of you better and to see all the wonderful things you’ll achieve this year. Let’s make 2025 a great year!
