Indigenous Literacy Foundation - Book Swap

Great Book Swap

To celebrate Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday, September 5th 2018 our junior and senior Student Representative Councils (SRC) will be holding a Great Book Swap. Books will be collected by members of the SRC from Friday August 31st until Wednesday September 5th.

High school books can be dropped off at room 4 in the Buckland building. Books from primary classes will be collected by the SRC and brought to Mrs Saintilan's classroom.

On Indigenous Literacy Day, students who have donated books can pay a gold coin donation to participate in the book swap, where they will be able to select a book of their choice in exchange for each book they donated.

Please only donate books that you think someone would be happy to buy, and are in reasonable condition.

All monies raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, whose purpose is to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous families by not only gifting thousands of new culturally appropriate books – with a focus on early literacy and first language – but also by running programs to inspire the communities to tell and publish their own stories

The book swap will take place in the primary art room which is located opposite the primary hall / canteen, before school and during breaks on Wednesday, September 5th.

For any enquiries, please contact your SRC representative, Meg Saintilan or Tahlia Sanders.
