Library News

Winter school holiday is fast approaching. We would like to encourage K-10 students to continue reading at home choosing books from NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) list on the website link below.

At APCS, PRC books are read to K-2 students during library lessons. Yr3-6 students will monitor their own PRC reading assisted by classroom teachers. Yr7-10 students are also required to monitor their own reading by making online log entries via PRC website. Students can access online reading log using their own DoE portal passwords. APCS teacher-librarian (Ms Young) will validate all students’ readings in August. Please help your child utilise this upcoming school holidays and visit your local library in order to extend your child’s reading experiences. Hence, together we can enhance APCS students’ participation in NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge.

On behalf of our Library staff, we would like to thank you for ensuring our students were prepared with Library equipment (bags, books returned etc) in Term 1 so they could enjoy their Library experience.  APCS library classes resumes on TBA. K-6 classes will be able to borrow & return library books during the scheduled times (please refer to your child's class timetable TBA - link to be added soon.

An up-to-date library timetable will be posted in the next newsletter) Students should have library bags in order to take books home. It is always good practice for students to bring their own pencil cases for learning in classes.

Due to Homework Centre reaching capacity, please do not pay when you submit your registration form. We will give your child a request for payment slip once your child is accepted.

You do not need to complete another registration form if your child has attended Home Work Club in Term 1.
