  • Timetable: General library business hours are displayed in "Library Times" section of this website. Kindergarten - Yr7 students will attend weekly library lessons and  library class schedules are determined by the librarian and class teachers at the beginning of each year. Please check specific library class timetables in school fortnightly newletters during term one.

  • Library bag: K-7 students will borrow books during library class time. They must have a library bag in order to take the books home for one week. Library bags are sold for $10 each at school uniform shop. Home made library bags are also acceptable.

  • Loans: K-12 borrowing cards are kept in the APCS Library. K-7 students may borrow books for one week at a time. Loaned items can be renewed twice if required. Loan limits on per student borrowing card are showing in  the table above.

  • Overdues: Towards the end of each term, APCS libraries will follow a 3-step procedure to recall overdue library books. Step 1: overdue list will be read out to students who have outstanding library books during library class. Step 2: Individual overdue slips will be issued to students who don't return outstanding library books after the first step. Step 3: Official overdue letters will be posted to parents/guardians if students still have not returned their outstanding library books at the second step. There are no fines for overdue items as long as they are found and returned. However, each lost item will incur a fee of $6 which will be requested in official overdue letters and this $6 per book cost is put towards the replacement of the lost book.

  • PRC: APCS library is an active participant of NSW Premier's Reading Challenge. K-9 students are strongly encouraged to take up the challenge. Many APCS students have received PRC certificates, gold certificates, platinum certificates and even gold medals for completing NSW PRC in previous years. At APCS in Term 1 & 2 during library lessons, K-7 students are requested to record their PRC readings on individual log sheets. 8 - 9 students will self monitor their own readings. Towards Term 3, PRC participating K-9 students must make online reading records with the assistance of APCS teacher-librarian. Parents/guardians are requested to oversee this process at home where possible. PRC entries will be validated by the teacher-librarian in Term 3 and students who have completed online PRC entries will receive NSW Premier's Reading Challenge certificates in Term 4.

  • Lunch time activity: K-7 classes will have the opportunity to use the library facilities during daily lunch times. Students may enjoy activities such as reading, board games, creative play, computer games, movies, etc. Please check the class roster sheet displayed at the entrance of the library or the community noticeboard.

  • Printing procedure: Students should fill in "printing request form" when they wish to print from a computer at school. Students must pay 10 cents for each A4 paper printed to school front office. please put in your printing request early so they can be collected on the same day.

  • Study Period: Years 11 & 12 may use the Library when they have a study period. Students need to sign in at the front counter.
