Opportunity classes

Opportunity classes (OC) are one of the ways that the department supports high potential and gifted students. These are students whose intellectual potential exceeds that of students of the same age.

Benefits of attending an opportunity class includes:

• Enhanced learning – Specialised teaching methods that help students to learn at a faster pace and explore concepts in greater depth.
• Peer interaction – Students can learn and make friends with like-minded peers.
• Academic and social growth – Research shows that students benefit both academically and socially when they learn alongside classmates with similar abilities.
